Diwali is also know as 'Deepavali' is the Festival of Lights. It is India’s best-loved festival, and is an ancient Hindu festival that symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It also represents the renewal of life. It is a time for celebration in India and by Indian diasporas abroad, with families lighting lamps, candles and fireworks. The Hindu Society of Tasmania hold Diwali NIght Celebratin in Hobart which will include scrumptious meal and diverse cultural programmes. The cultural programmes will include performing arts, bollywood dance and music.
